I bet he forgets where he left his keys, too
“It’s a frickin’ mansion. He [Obama] doesn’t tell people that. You have a mansion you bought in a shady deal with a convicted felon.”
- McCain spokesman Brian Rogers, in response to an advertisement by Obama which stated that McCain may view the economy as being fundamentally sound if he can’t remember how many houses he owns.
Aside from the fact that the illegal activities of Tony Rezko have been found to have no connection to the relationship that the two had, the McCain campaign’s “kitchen sink” attack today included the insinuation that Obama’s mansion still makes him a wealthy elitist that they have tried to paint over the past few months. Clearly, of the two, Obama must be the most out of touch with the ever-important middle class demographic. Lets just check the stats (complements of an Associated Press article)…
Ranch: 1
Condos (AZ): 2
Condos (CA): 4
Condos (VA): 1
TOTAL HOMES: 8*
TOTAL WORTH: >$13 million
* This actually gets trickier, as McCain boasted in an Architectural Digest article that the ranch actually has multiple houses on it. The Associated Press claims “at least four houses and a two-story cabin.”

The worst part of this is that, with the capital that they have for advertising, the McCain campaign may actually convince voters of Obama’s elitism and shady ties to real estate. It never ceases to amaze how these Rove-ian politics keep working in shifting poll numbers and general public perception. Unbelievable.
